Mr. Kulkarni is heavily involved in teaching and training activities for medical and optometry students, optometrists, orthoptists and trainee ophthalmologists. His involvement ranges from departmental, national and international lectures to clinical mentorship and educational supervision of trainee ophthalmologists at King’s College Hospital.

Undergraduate

  • Teaching 3rd year Guy’s King’s St. Thomas’ medical students in outpatient clinic and theatre
  • Mentorship of medical students in conducting clinical audit research at King’s College Hospital
  • Regular lecturer to 3rd year Guys’ King’s and St. Thomas’ medical students

 

Postgraduate

  • Educational Supervisor for 5 trainees (August 2011 to date) at King’s College Hospital
  • Nominated to be College Tutor for King’s College Hospital (October 2011)
  • Trainer for the London Deanery Glaucoma fellow (March 2009 to date)
  • Trainer for trainees in Laser / cataract surgery (March 2009 to date)
  • Mentor for trainees undertaking clinical audit/ research
  • Supervisor for glaucoma-trained orthoptists and optometrists at King’s College Hospital (March 2009 to date)
  • Lecturer nationally and internationally on glaucoma-related subjects
  • Regular invitee to the London glaucoma forum for complex glaucoma case
  • Council member of Ophthalmology section of Royal Society of Medicine (2011 to date)
